| Voice Carry-Over (VCO)
allows deaf or hard-of-hearing people who prefer to use their own
voice to speak directly to the party they are calling. The CA will
type the voiced responses back to the VCO user who can read the
typed messages across the TTY screen.
- Dial FRS 1-800-877-8339.
- FRS will reply with "FRS CA (number), F or
M (for female/male) NUMBER CALLING PLS GA."
- Type in the area code, telephone number,
and the agency you are calling from or to. Then type "VCO PLEASE
GA."
- The CA will make the connections with the other
party and will type "VOICE NOW GA". When you finish speaking say
"GA" to allow the CA to signal the other person when to speak.
The CA will type the other party's spoken words to you.
